Meet February 2025’s Community Superhero: Cathy Miller

For 14 years, Cathy Miller has played a vital role at United Way of Madison County, working to strengthen local nonprofits and expand their impact. As Community Impact Director, her approach goes beyond fundraising—she focuses on bringing organizations together, fostering collaboration, and ensuring resources reach those who need them most.

“Real change happens when people come together with a shared purpose. My role has always been about connecting the dots—making sure organizations have the support they need so that no one in our community falls through the cracks.”

Her work has touched nearly every corner of our community. From early childhood education initiatives to programs that provide food, housing, and job support, she has helped build networks that make assistance more accessible. By connecting nonprofits with funding and strategic partnerships, she ensures they have the resources to create meaningful, long-term change.

As Huntsville continues to grow, Cathy sees both challenges and opportunities. With thoughtful leadership and community-driven solutions, she believes the city can expand in a way that prioritizes people and progress. For her, true success isn’t measured in economic growth alone but in how well a community takes care of its own.

Through her dedication, Cathy has helped create a stronger, more connected Madison County—one where every organization, and every individual, has the support they need to thrive.

We are proud to recognize her as February’s Redstone Federal Credit Union Community Superhero.
